The Conference covers many of the different aspects of local and regional economic development and regeneration. Its purpose is to identify changing policies and organisational responsibilities as well as to highlight what has worked, the options available, and how policies and practice may change given a UK general election and changing EU priorities.
Our Gateways to the Future theme has been chosen not only to reflect the location of the conference in the Hull & the Humber Ports City Region but also to encourage the consideration of other gateways, openings and opportunities such as pathways and incentives to work for the workless; restructuring for a low carbon economy; smart development, no-growth and the green agendas; and opportunities for place-making and marketing.
